Recreation Centers

Tucson Parks and Recreation Department operates nineteen recreation and special interest centers spread throughout our community. Offering a wide variety of programs and services, our centers develop a close and active community for citizens of all ages and interests. 

Recreation center use is free at the following centers: Fred Archer, Cherry Avenue, El Rio, Freedom, Marty Birdman, Oury, Quincie Douglas, and Santa Rosa.
*Facility access is free, however programs with affiliated fees still are in effect for users.

Tucson Parks and Recreation offers three types of passes, Universal, Restricted, and Senior Activity Card.

  • Universal passes can be used at any center (must be purchased for El Pueblo Center, Morris K. Udall Center, and William M. Clements Center).
  • Restricted passes may be used at Donna R. Liggins, and Randolph.
  • Senior Activity Card may be used at any Armory Park Center, El Pueblo Activity Center and Senior Center, and Morris K. Udall Center and Carol West Senior Center, or at all other recreation centers during senior activity days. 

Purchase your Center Pass at any Center. Benefits may include use of the gymnasium, weight room, indoor track, racquetball courts, locker rooms, and game areas depending on location. All participants must take a certification class prior to using weight equipment.

Universal Pass

Universal passes can be used at any recreation facility. Must be purchased for El Pueblo Center, Morris K. Udall Center, and William M. Clements Center.

Card privileges include use at fitness/weight room facilities and indoor walking track (where available) on senior club meeting days only. There is a separate charge for these facilities on other days. You do not have to be a senior club member to participate in senior nutrition programs.

Fees for trips are established by department based upon 50% of the direct cost of providing each trip divided by the number of participants.

An additional $20 per hour fee will be charged if reserved outside of regular center hours and holidays. Not all centers provide after hours rentals. 

Registered neighborhood associations/coalitions with the department of neighborhood resources will be allowed twelve (12) meetings per year at no cost to the neighborhood/coalition. Reservations must be coordinated through the Department of Neighborhood Resources.
